Salesforce CEO announced plans to hire 1,000 graduates to prove AI won’t wipe out entry-level jobs

Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, has announced plans to hire 1,000 graduates and interns at a time when concerns are growing that artificial intelligence could reduce entry-level job opportunities.

In a recent post on X, Benioff said the company is hiring 1,000 new graduates and interns to help build its AI systems. The move counters the narrative that AI is eliminating entry-level roles, with recent data pointing to stronger hiring of college graduates and a notable decline in youth unemployment.

Marc Benioff said the new hires will join Salesforce’s “Futureforce” program and work on some of the company’s most advanced AI initiatives, including Agentforce and Headless360.

Benioff was responding to remarks by David Sacks, who said recent data does not support the narrative of an AI-driven job collapse. Sacks noted that hiring of college graduates has increased 5.6% compared with last year, while unemployment among degree-holding 20-to-24-year-olds has dropped sharply to 5.3% from 8.9%.

“Narrative violation: Hiring of new college graduates is up 5.6% over last year. Youth unemployment for degreed 20–24‑year‑olds fell to 5.3% from 8.9%. Weren’t we told that 50% of entry-level jobs were going away?” Sacks said in a post.
