R&M introduces 8-Wire RJ45 Connector

Reichle & De-Massari (R&M) has introduced FM45 connector in India. FM45, the Cat 5e connector. FM45 is the first tool-free wireable, field terminable, 8-wire RJ45 connector, which boosts transmission capacity up to 10-Gigabit Ethernet.

FM45 can be used for flexible, quick cabling of large enterprises, industrial plants, offices and residential buildings. R&M ensures safe, error-free and durable wiring of the eight wires. The FM45 renders installations more efficient since time is saved in planning and work preparation, and cable overlengths are eliminated. Due to its extremely compact shape, it can be lined up horizontally as well as vertically. Thus, the FM45 can be plugged in to all common terminal equipment with RJ45 connections without constraints.

In office cabling, it can be advantageous if the connector can be connected later once the cable has been pulled through tight areas, such as a piece of furniture or a pillar. The FM45 is the ideal problem solver in many cases.

The FM45 meets Ethernet requirements in the area of automation as well as in the industrial LAN and in structured building cabling. In the FM45, solid or stranded wires can be wired with cross-sections of AWG 26 to AWG 22. It accommodates shielded and unshielded cables up to 8 mm diameter and can be rewired up to twenty times. Its basic version meets the requirements of the IP20 protection index and in the encapsulated version the requirements of the IP67 protection index.
