Spectramind (now Wipro BPO) - The venture-funded Spectramind, with an enviable leadership team and a proven track record, was acquired by Wipro in July 2002.

Roy remained as Chairman & Managing Director of Wipro Spectramind until June 2005, growing the company to become the largest provider of third-party BPO shared services from India, with nearly 16,000 employees. As a tribute to his contribution to the BPO industry, he was awarded the Dataquest Pathbreaker Award in 2002 for directly creating 35,000+ jobs in India and indirectly enabling the employment of 350,000 people by creating the BPO industry.
