Pitney Bowes launches "Degaussers"
Pitney Bowes has launched the 'Intimus' range of Degaussers and Crusher in association with Martin Yale GMBH. The launch is believed to create ripples at the enterprise front, as secured data destruction is getting increasingly important to ensure non-retrieval of data once it is destroyed or computer systems are disposed.
Pitney Bowes will distribute Intimus Degaussers and Crushers from Martin Yale and provide accessories, spare parts and after-sales services of the same. The products will be targeted to the service sectors like Banking, Financial, Insurance and Telecom besides governments where data security is a critical part.
The new pulse degausser Intimus 8000 combines the advantages of a small desktop unit with the need for ultimate information security. Using the APT technology, this unit shows highest reliability in eliminating stored information on magnetic drives together with low energy consumption. Degausser Intimus 9000 is designed in an energy efficient, reliable and easy to use manner, using newest APT technology.
While degaussers destroy the magnetic storage mechanisms of the hard disk drive, the housing remaining unchanged, the Intimus HDD Crusher 1000 on the other hand, physically destroys the hard disk drive by bending, breaking and mangling its components. It can destroy all kinds of hard drives regardless of size, operating system or interface.
