Which are the verticals you are focusing on in India?
Hitachi is focused on almost every key verticals in the country. Government is the most prized vertical for Hitachi. The company is present in most of the state data centers across the country as a result of our rate contract with NIC. Hitachi powers them with virtualization solutions. The vision is to continue growing in this space, find new partners who can bring Hitachi more govt. opportunities and will continue to invest in this business.
Apart from govt. there are two other verticals that have come up very strongly. One is BFSI; today nine of the top 10 Banks in this country run on core banking application of Hitachi. BFSI is going to be a very strong vertical for Hitachi because our technology is best fitted to address pain points of the customers in this vertical.
IT/ITes is another important vertical for Hitachi. We have large number of customers in this segment who were pre-dominantly Hitachi Data Systems customers because of our dominance in storage technology. Hitachi has moved from storage to an information infrastructure company because of evolution of compute. IT and ITes industry is keen to adopt it however in times to come.
Another growing segment is e-commerce and we want to address it by providing right information and infrastructure solutions to cater to the growth of this sector today and tomorrow.
How important are partners for Hitachi?
We are today working with different partners and they are playing an important role in ensuring that we grow with them. These partners are usually large system integrators like HCL Technologies, TCS and Wipro.
What are the revenue earnings from different verticals?
We are significantly growing in this country. Today, at least close to 15% of the revenue comes from govt. vertical and it is still growing. We are foreseeing a lot of growth in not only our Hitachi Data System’s customers but also acquiring new customers. 30% of the revenue comes from new customers. The growth we are witnessing with new customers coming onboard is because of our increasing product portfolio. It is not only restricted to storage but also includes flash, virtualization, converged infrastructure, services, cloud. Our growth is hence very dynamic in this country.
