Ashok Soota, Co-Founded, MindTree Ltd. (formerly MindTree Consulting Ltd.) in August 1999 and served as its Managing Director until April 2009. Soota served as President of Wipro Infotech from 1984 to 1999. 

He has over 20 years of experience in the IT industry. He served as President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) from 2002 to 2003. Soota has been Executive Chairman of MindTree Consulting Ltd. since April 1, 2008. He served as an Executive Chairman of MindTree Ltd. from April 1, 2008 to April 1, 2011. 

He also served as Vice-Chairman of Wipro Systems Ltd. He also served as Vice- Chairman of the Board for Wipro Ltd. until 1999. He served as Member of the Advisory Council for World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva. He served as a Member of the India Advisory Panel of IE Singapore. He served as a Director of MindTree Ltd. until March 31, 2011. In recognition of his invaluable contributions to the IT industry, Soota was named the Electronics Man of the Year in 1992 by the Electronic Component Industries Association, IT Man of the Year in 1994 by Dataquest and IT Man of the Year in 1997 by Computer world Magazine. Soota holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Roorkee (now called Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee) and an MBA Degree from the Asian Institute of Management in the Philippines.
